Cologne, Germany – Co-Founder of Bioware, Dr. Ray Muzyka took the stage today during EA’s GamesCom Press Conference. He started off by focusing on Dragon Age: Origins which is set for a November 2009 release on the PC, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. Muzkya stated that Dragon Age: Origins will be a traditional RPG and therefore somewhat resemble Bioware classics such as Neverwinter Nights and Baldur’s Gate. An important aspect here is that Dragon Age will be based on the same four ‘pillars’ that made their previous RPGs so successful. These pillars are the ability to customize characters to the liking of each individual player, a story in which choices have consequences, a focus on exploration and finally, a healthy dose of combat.

The game will feature 6 playable character classes. The story of the game, which features the Grey Wardens as the main characters, will focus on the paradox between human frailty on one side, and the seemingly limitless brutality humans are capable of on the other side.
