Serah Farron, the name of the new Final Fantasy XIII character revealed at Gamescom now has a back story at Tokyo Game Show. Serah is the first Pulse-born I’Cie in Cocoon, Lighting’s sister, and Snow’s fiancée. The plot these 3 characters entail Lighting being over protective of her sister due to the loss of their parents, resulting in Lighting being a mother figure to Serah and set against her marrying Snow. Motomu Toriyama states, “So naturally she doesn’t want her marrying someone who doesn’t make her standard. The fact that Snow was a Nora member also affects her opinion.” Toriyama has also announced that there will be a 13 episode novel published on their website covering the 13 day back story of these characters leading to the opening scene of the game.
