No Multiplayer for The Last Guardian

Fumito Ueda, the mind behind 2 hit titles for the Playstation 2: Ico and Shadow of the Colossus has announced in an interview with Famitsu that there won’t be a multiplayer portion in his next game, The Last Guardian. Ueda goes on to saying that the story won’t fit well with a multiplayer aspect thus “can’t really commit to anything right now,” and not to keep your hopes high. Ueda also teased that there may be a collector’s edition for his PS2 games similar to The God of War Collection, which is set to release this holiday season.

Uh, good I guess. Multiplayer was the last aspect I was anticipating to be announced for a Team Ico game.

Yeah, I would rather the team focus on the single player aspect of the game rather than tacking on a multiplayer game that I probably won’t touch.

As for the collection… if I didn’t own both games (I have two versions of Ico), I would pick this up in a heartbeat. Hopefully Sony wises up and does it, there are a lot of people that missed these incredible games the first time it came out.

I don’t understand why anyone would expect this game to have multiplayer.

Yeah. The thought of multiplayer never once entered my mind. It’s an artsy fartsy Fumito Ueda title–best enjoyed solo when you can appreciate the art of the game and cry manly tears when the cute creature invariably dies. *sniff* AGRO WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
