Gamers lament as star of the much-adored 1989 “Super Mario Bros. Super Show,” Captain Lou Albano died today at age 76. The cause of death was not known at the time of posting.
Aside from voicing Mario on 17 episodes, Lou was known his WWF / WWE wrestling career and his role in Cindi Lauper’s music videos including “Girl’s Just Want to Have Fun.”
Albano retired from wrestling in 1995 and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame shortly afterward.
