Capcom has announced today that it will be launching remakes of the arcade classics Final Fight and Magic Sword on Playstation Network and Xbox Live Arcade in April 2010. These games will be for sale under the name of Final Fight: Double Impact.
Final Fight was originally released in 1989 and is a side-scrolling action / fighting game. Two of the main characters from Final Fight, Cody and Guy, were announced to be playable characters in the upcoming fighting game Super Street Fighter IV. Magic Sword was released in 1990 and is a side-scrolling fantasy game.
Both games will receive upgraded visuals, but players will also be able to switch back to the ‘original mode’ and play the game with the original graphics. There’s also a mode that simulates an arcade cabinet, complete with faint scan lines. Online drop in/drop out multiplayer will also be available for both games. Screenshots for both games can be found after the jump.
