Hello!

I want to thank everyone for the continued support that we’ve been receiving here at Elder-Geek.com. I’m glad you all enjoy our recent reviews and features. In the upcoming months, we have a lot more in store so be sure to come back regularly! I’d like to thank everyone for using Digg, Reddit, and Facebook to help share the awesomeness of Elder-Geek.com. If you haven’t done so yet, be sure to sign up for Reddit or Digg. You can share our articles right from the articles themselves just above the comments section. It’s pretty sweet.

Starting next week we have our Elder-Geek Holiday Shopping Guide coming your way, so if you or a loved one is looking for any geeky gift ideas, (or if you’re trying to lay a hint on real thick with someone who doesn’t know what to get you) our guide should help you out. Still coming this month are our video reviews of Assassin’s Creed 2, Dragon Age: Origins (which I’m incredibly addicted to right now), Left 4 Dead 2, a video preview of the highly anticipated PC role-playing game Divinity II: Ego Draconis, as well as episodes of the Elder-Geek Gaming Show and more!

Elder-Geek.com is also bringing news from Anime USA and MagFest, and we’re planning on attending PAX East, and of course, E3. If you plan on attending any of these shows, be sure to say hello!

I’ve also started playing with some updates for the site. Right now, I’m hoping to bring you better message boards, an easier sign-in process and possibly some social networking integration as well. I have 1,000 monkeys working on 1,000 computers to create the greatest set of forums that can be found on the internet. You’ll all be THE first to know when they’re done… or when the monkeys have rebelled against their cruel master. I don’t have a time-line to provide as to when the project will be completed, but I promise I’m going to make the transition as smooth as possible. The site still has some growing pains to go through, so thank you in advance for your patience!

We also have some positions open in the staff. Right now, we have openings in both the news section of the site and the reviews/features section. If you’ve ever wanted to write for a gaming site, now’s your chance! Just send a resume and two short samples of your writing to info at elder-geek dot com.

Flashpoint 2 Contest

Finally, I’d like to remind everyone that the 2009 Beard-Off is still underway. There’s still time to sign up and strut your scruff. There’s also still time to sign up for the Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising Contest. It’s a perfectly free game and one of my favorite co-op games of this year. I don’t know why you wouldn’t enter the contest. Get those emails in before it’s too late!

Again, 1,000,000 thanks from me to all of you! This site wouldn’t be anything without your continued feedback and awesome support. I’m proud to be your site of choice for new and classic reviews, news, features and more. Thank you!

Yours,

Randy

  1. Transparency is the new secrecy!

I’ll eco Randy’s sentiments and say that I’m really existed for the future of this site, and we couldn’t have done it without you all!

  2. Keep updating us with these letters monthly or bi-monthly. It is nice to know what is happening with the site. Keep up the hard work.

  3. This site keeps getting better and better. Good work, staff.

Side note: Someone better be wearing an anime costume at the anime convention….
