Bethesda has officially announced that Fallout: New Vegas will be coming in 2010. Unlike 2008′s Fallout 3, the game is being developed by Obsidian Entertainment, a company made up in part by many of the former members of Black Isle, the original developers of Fallout and Fallout 2. A note written from the Vault-Tec corporation (read it after the jump) gives us some indication as to what the game is about. Also check out the teaser trailer, also found after the jump.
Experience all the sights and sounds of fabulous New Vegas, brought to you by Vault-Tec, America’s First Choice in Post Nuclear Simulation. Explore the treacherous wastes of the Great Southwest from the safety and comfort of your very own vault: Meet new people, confront terrifying creatures, and arm yourself with the latest high-tech weaponry as you make a name for yourself on a thrilling new journey across the Mojave wasteland. A word of warning, however – while Vault-Tec engineers have prepared for every contingency,* in Vegas, fortunes can change in an instant. Enjoy your stay.

That looks pretty cool! Looking forward to it already, but truth be told, I’d actually prefer another Elder Scrolls over this.

Actually you can have both. Bethesda is only publishing this one, meaning that their in-house development studio is free to work on other things.

I just hope Obsidian gets all the time they need to make this the best game possible… a great and complete game. I will NEVER forgive LucasArts for the crap they pulled on Obsidian over KOTOR 2.
