Rise of the Triad Coming to iPhone

Today, Apogee Software and Mobila Interactive announced that they will soon be releasing the classic PC-game Rise of the Triad for the iPhone and associated platforms. Rise of the Triad was originally released in 1995 by Apogee Software, which is nowadays known as 3D Realms. The game features players taking on a cult bent on destroying the city of Los Angeles.

At the time it was released, Rise of the Triad introduced several innovative gameplay elements that are still in use in many modern first-person shooters, such as a “Capture the Flag” multiplayer mode and destroyable sources of lighting.

The game will be similar to the original Rise of the Triad in all important aspects and will be released at an unspecified date early 2010 in the Apple App Store.
