A source claiming to be an ex-Bungie staffer has supposedly revealed the studio’s next big project. According to the source, Bungie, now under an exclusive contract with Activision, will soon be releasing a science-fiction, first-person MMO. Currently under the codename “Tiger” (with the working title of Destiny), the game will have a brand new engine and unique matchmaking tech. The source claimed to have worked at Bungie up until a string of 30 layoffs of contract employees, which is common in the industry, although Bungie has released a contrary statement on the matter.

“the claim is false. Bungie has never been asked to lay off any employees or contract employees by our publisher, Activision-Blizzard, for any reason. The talented professionals who grace our offices day in and day out are the lifeblood of Bungie – our most cherished commodity – and the unsubstantiated rumors posted today are in direct opposition to the culture and values that we believe make Bungie an exceptional place to work, and to call home.” read Bungie’s Statement.

  1. They never denied the idea of an MMO directly, which is weird. They just said that they didn’t fire any one. Who knows what they are working on.

  2. Yeah a lot of these companies like to throw curveballs at you and try and misdirect you as often as they can so you can be shocked when they announce something. I can’t say i have too much faith with Bungie doing an mmo. All they’ve done well imo is FPS and when they tried to stray from that with something like Halo Wars it was an abomination. They’d have to show me something before they excite me
