TGS: ‘Ni No Kuni’, ‘Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney’ Confirmed for the West
17 Sep, 2011
Both Level-5/Studio Ghibli’s Ni no Kuni and the 3DS crossover Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney have been confirmed – albeit in unequal terms – for an English release. Akihiro Hino, President of Level-5, has been reported to have confirmed that “an English version of [Ni no Kuni] is in production” as well as offer 2012 as it’s current release window. So far the PS3 version has been the only one given the green light.
While not as definitive a confirmation, a Capcom press release out on the Tokyo Game Show floor all but spells out a Western port for Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney. The press release, written in English, refers to the game using both franchises’ respective Western character names, stating that other “English names are TBD”, all but guaranteeing a localization. Again, since we don’t have a concrete release confirmation, there is currently no information regarding any specifics of the game’s launch outside of Japan.
