One of the most popular games on the Xbox Live Arcade, Castle Crashers, is finally making its way to the store of Playstation Network. That news was announced on the blog of developer The Behemoth late yesterday. In 2008, Castle Crashers was awarded with the XBL Arcade Awards for ‘Game of the Year’, ‘Best Original Game’ and ‘Best Co-op Mode’. Also, the game recently celebrated the 1 millionth player registered to the online leaderboards, making it the fastest growing game over a longer period on the 360 Arcade. Today it was announced that Battlefield 1943 has dethroned Castle Crashers as the fastest selling game on the release day and during the first week after launch.

A release date for the PS3 version of the game has not been confirmed yet, and it is also unclear whether or not the DLC that is available on the Xbox 360 will be included in the Ps3 version.

Castle Crashers was released on the 28th of August last year, and received outstanding reviews for the simple yet addicting gameplay. The Elder-Geek review of this game can be found here.

  1. I am pumped about this, but there is still another 360 exclusive that is coming to the PS3 that hasn’t been announced. Its not suppose to be anything huge (aka first party or second party), but it is suppose to be something to get excited about. I’m curious.
