Behemoth has just announced a new volleyball minigame exclusive for the PlayStation Network version of Castle Crashers. Features include:

* Play co-op or vs your buddies
* Local or online play
* From 1-4 players per team for up to 8 player matches
* Variable stats based on character
* Use magic attacks to place 8 new magic status effects on the ball
* Cool new serving and spiking moves
* Available AI teammates or opponents
* Play as any character you have unlocked
* Play 1, 3 or 5 matches against your opponents
* Leaderboards to track the best in the land

There is no set date as of this moment, but Behemoth is planning a target release of this year. They have also stated that they will be speaking at both Tokyo Anime Fair and PAX East in March on the PSN version of Castle Crashers and their latest new project venture BattleBlock Theater.

  1. Hmmm, might be pretty nice. Altough I do really hope they make it ALOT easier to play than the Volleyball mini-game in the actual ‘campaign’… it isn’t that difficult per se, but accurate depth perception is almost impossible in that game, let alone when you have to hit a moving object.

  2. Come on already, I want to play me some Castle Crashers. I have been hearing talk of this port for well over a year or more, it is time to just release the game already.
