Ubisoft has received confirmation that Assassin’s Creed II has broken the Guinness World Record for being the most cover-featured game in history. In total, Assassin’s Creed II has graced the cover of 127 different magazines between April 2009 and April 2010. These magazines were published in 32 different countries. The game itself was released in November 2009 for Playstation 3 and Xbox 360, but a PC-version was not released until last month.

Gaz Deaves, editor of the Guinness World Records Gamer’s Edition, stated that he was “pleasantly surprised that Assassin’s Creed II took the record.” He added that he “would have predicted another well-known game winning the title instead, and this achievement is even more impressive in view of the other 2009 releases that Assassin’s Creed II was able to beat.”
