With Sega of America previously announcing its renewed focus on the digital-sphere, their announcement of bringing their Genesis library to Valve’s Steam platform isn’t all that surprising. Beginning June 1st, old favorites like Vector Man, Golden Axe, Ecco the Dolphin, and Comix Zone will immediately be available for download, with other hits like Altered Beast and Crack Down pending future release. If the model proves successful, Sega plans to begin releasing more within the Genesis library, and perhaps even branching out to its other console’s back catalogs, in the future.

  1. Well I already bought the Sonic Sega Genesis Collection on PS3, so I don’t need to worry about this. But it is interesting to see how they would fair with PC controls.
