More than two years after having been released on Xbox Live Arcade to raving reviews, The Behemoth has finally confirmed a release date for Castle Crashers on the Playstation 3. The game will be made available on August 31st in the United States, Mexico, and Canada, for a price of $15.

Castle Crashers was originally released on August 28th, 2008 on the Xbox 360 and went on to win the ‘Game of the Year’, ‘Best Original Game’, and ‘Best Co-op’ awards for the Xbox Live Arcade platform in 2008. It was also one of the first games to sell more than a million copies through this platform.

The Playstation 3 version of the game will include a separate game mode that allows players to play volleyball against other players or the CPU. This minigame was already included in the campaign of the Xbox 360 version, but it did not allow players to replay this sequence without forcing them to play through the level again, nor did it allow players to play against one another.
