Warner Bros. has confirmed that F.E.A.R. 3 will be released on March 22nd, 2011 in North America, and three days later in Europe and other territories. The game was originally scheduled for a launch in the upcoming holiday season, but the game was delayed by at least several months in August.
Additionally, Warner Bros. unveiled the pre-order bonuses that will be available in North America. Customers of Amazon.com will receive a 12-page comic book that acts as a prequel to F.E.A.R. 3 and will be set paralel to the events of the second installment in the franchise. The comic will be published by DC Comics and is written by Steve Niles, while Stefano Raffaele provides illustrations. Best Buy offers customers an extra in-game weapon known as “the Shredder,” a weapon capable of firing heavy rounds that potentially set enemies ablaze. Finally, Gamestop offers those who pre-order the game a unique weapon that replaces the basic sidearm found in the game. “The Hammer,” as this weapon is known, is the weapon used by Paxton Fettel in the previous games and deals twice as much damage as the regular sidearm.
