Namco Bandai has a lot of cultural phenomenons in their back catalog, so its no surprise that the company is now devoting an entire new studio to their maintenance and updating. Namco Generations is a label strictly designed to bring HD remasters and remakes of classic arcade and console hits back onto digital distribution platforms like Xbox Live Arcade and Playstation Network. The first game under the label, Pac-Man Championship Edition DX, releases on November 23rd, with other games like Metro-Cross and Galaga set for similar treatment down the road.

“Namco Bandai holds a rich heritage of classic games that shaped the early history of the video game industry,” says marketing VP Carlson Choi. “They defined what arcade games should be, and set the benchmark for retro revivals with Pac-Man Championship Edition and Galaga Legions.”
