The cash-strapped nation of North Korea has taken to seeking out any means of adding revenue to its nuclear programs, and that includes hackers. According to The New York Times (via sources in the Seoul police force), the North Korean government has taken steady kickbacks from a group of gold farmers working off popular Korean MMOs like Dungeon and Fighter and Lineage. The group organizers have raised over $6 million in two years, an unknown percentage of which has gone to the police in Pyongyang. Both South Korean and American officials believe the money to be used in the country’s nuclear programs, although no concrete means of proving such a paper trail have been released.
