According to a Gematsu interview with Capcom Producer Yoshinori Ono, Street Fighter x Tekken may not continue the publisher’s practice of releasing updated boxed copies of the game every 6-9 months. In the interview, Ono laid out a plan of pure DLC/patch support for SF x T, stating the game will more closely resemble Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition rather than Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3.

“If we decide to create a new version of the game, we will go with the Street Fighter IV series route by providing online update patches for the game,” said series producer Yoshinori Ono. “So I would say that you don’t really need to worry about a new version of the game coming out. If we choose to update it, it will be done in the same fashion as Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition.”

  1. Well finally they release a game/franchise that they aren’t going to milk into oblivion. Though, I expect a year from now or maybe two, they will release a new version with more characters and a few new mechanics added.
