SEGA has confirmed on its official blog that it will be rereleasing the Dreamcast classic Jet Set Radio for download on Playstation Network, Xbox Live Arcade and the PC later this year. More information is available after the jump.

Jet Set Radio, or Jet Grind Radio (as it was known upon its release in the West) was originally released in 2000 for the Dreamcast, with developer SmileBit releasing a sequel to the game as an Xbox-exclusive in 2002. Though it is currently not known whether the rerelease of PSN, XBLA and the PC will introduce any new features to the game, SEGA has announced that it will offer aspiring artists an opportunity to have their graffiti featured in the game. A total of 18 user-created pieces of graffiti will be featured in the actual game.

Jet Set Radio was listed as #3 on the Elder-Geek Top 10 Sega Dreamcast Games.

Any Elder-Geeks thinking of picking this up when it comes out, or were you hoping for SEGA to release another one of your favorite Dreamcast classics? Let us know below!

  1. This is awesome. I like extreme sports games. I’d prefer Jet Set Radio Future, but I will take this news.

What I really want is a new entry in the series to help bring back the Extreme Sports genre that has been undeserved this generation.
