The next game in Harmonix’s beloved music-rhythm franchise more closely resembles the studio’s earliest work than anything previous in the franchise. Rock Band Blitz takes its strongest cues from Harmonix’s own Frequency or Amplitude, a single-player action/arcade experience that is “part-beat matching, part pinball”. Rock Band Blitz will be coming out on Xbox Live Arcade and the Playstation Network sometime this Summer.
Despite it’s genre differences with the majority of the series that bears its name, Harmonix has confirmed that it will continue the franchise tradition of making the new game compatible with your Rock Band DLC library. And while it hasn’t been confirmed by Harmonix yet, it is expected that the unique tracks for Blitz (reportedly around 25) will be cross-compatible with Rock Band 3‘s full band support.
