Capcom has reported to its investors that the company’s profits and sales fell during the first quarter of its 2014 fiscal year.
Game sales came in at £117 million, down from £125 million for the same period last year. Net profit was down 37 percent to £5.55 million compared to last year’s £8.85 million. Capcom said its key games didn’t perform poorly, but because they were not sold at a premium price, revenues were not as good as unit sales.
Capcom sold around 2.5 million games during the quarter, with 1.3 million on the PS3; 650,000 on the Xbox 360; 200,000 on the Nintendo 3DS; 160,000 on the Wii U; 140,000 on PC; and 50,000 on the PS Vita.
