StarWarsBattlefront2 07 May

According to their Steam pages, Star Wars: Battlefront 2 and Star Wars: Empire at War: Gold Pack will be going offline on May 31st due to the GameSpy server shutdown.

“As of May 31, 2014, online functionality, including network multiplayer and wireless chat, will no longer be available for this title,” a message on the Steam page reads. “We regret any disappointment as a result of the shutdown of the services supporting these online features.”

Glu announced in April that it was shutting down its GameSpy servers on May 31st. Battlefront 2 and Empire at War join a long list of titles that will lose their online features including Sid Meier’s Civilization Revolution, Crysis, Crysis 2 and Vietcong. Other games, including other Civilization titles, Borderlands, Battlefield 2 and Battlefield 2142 are being transitioned to other services to keep their multiplayer features available.
