Sony has announced some “maintenance” time for the Playstation Network, the entirety of the community service going offline from noon to 2PM EST today. While the system is down, PSP and PS3 owners will not be able to play games online or access the Playstation Store for the duration of the scheduled “maintenance.” Rumors have already begun to fly in regards to this downtime, as it is in direct correspondence with Sony’s press conference later today at GamesCom, at which major announcements in regard to the price of the Playstation 3 and a possible Slim SKU are expected.
