In a surprise turn of events, David Jaffe (along with a rather scary looking clown) took the stage to show off Twisted Metal to close off Sony’s E3 press conference today. The game is set to release in 2011. and will be exclusive to the Playstation 3. Jaffe and some of theĀ rest of the Twisted Metal staff also demonstrated two game modes for the upcoming title: a traditional team deathmatch (with flight for the first time in the franchise’s history), and a new multiplayer mode called “Nuke,” a hybrid deathmatch/king of the hill mode in which players blast their way to the opposing team’s leaders, drags them to a set location and keeps them away fromĀ the opposing team long enough to charge a machine that will launch the leader at a statue, destroying it on impact.
