The next MAGFest is coming up Jan 13-16, 2011, and will be holding a charity auction, with 100% of proceeds to be donated to Child’s Play. Child’s Play is a game industry charity dedicated to improving the lives of children with toys and games in a network of over 60 hospitals worldwide. Since their inception in 2003, they’ve raised millions of dollars, and MAGFest will be trying to do their part this year to help with that. There are going to be some much sought after items up for auction, and here’s just a few of the big ticket ones:
- CDs and Posters for Distant Worlds: music from FINAL FANTASY signed by composer Nobuo Uematsu, and conductor Arnie Roth. This package generously was donated by the people behind Distant Worlds.
- Civilization 5, signed by the development team, including Sid Meier
- Rock Band 3 keytar bundle, signed by all the MAGFest bands.
- Rock Band 3 Pro Guitar, signed by all the MAGFest bands

These are just a small sampling of the items that will be up for auction, so come bid and show your support! In addition to the auction items that we provide, MAGFest is gladly accepting donations of items to put up for auction. Contact MAGFest, and tell them if you have anything that you’d like to be added to the Child’s Play charity auction! The auction will be held on the last day of MAGFest, Sunday, January 16th.
Will definitely be bidding on the Civ 5 bundle. Considering putting up my first run 2600 autographed by Nolan Bushnell for auction.
