We use March Madness Brackets to find the Greatest Cartoon Ever, out of 64 Saturday Morning Classics!
Ahhhhh, you are missing a lot of great shows on here. Doug, Rugrats, Ren and Stimpy, Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Jack, The Original SW Clone Wars mini-series, Robotech, Digimon, Archer, Southpark, Fairly Odd Parents, American Dad, Magic School Bus, Schoolhouse Rock, Avatar, Futurama, Simpsons, and even Family Guy was left off the list. I say drop off some of the bad shows and add some of these.
PS: Also, I can’t urge enough people to watch the Clone Wars mini-series. It is pretty fantastic.
PSS: Beast Wars is the best Transformers show yet… still waiting for something better (Pulling my flame shield up now).
I forgot about Zoids… ZOIDS. And how about any Gundam show (either OG or Wing). Ghost in a Shell SOA, Death Note, Full Metal Alchemist, Dead Leaves (I guess it is a movie, but still, nucking futs!), FLCL, The Maxx, The Tick, Earthworm Jim, Captain N, Super Mario Bros. Super Show… seriously, I could go on forever naming a lot of shows better than some that were in that bracket.
At the start of the podcast, we said we would only consider kid cartoons. No primetime shows, violent animes or adult cartoons. That immediately eliminated Simpsons, Family Guy, Cowboy Bebop, South Park, American Dad, Futurama, Ghost in a Shell SOA, Death Note, Full Metal Alchemist, The Maxx, and The Tick. Archer is one of my favorite shows right now, but it’s not for kids.
Neither of us liked Beast Wars because we grew up with G1. Also, we included the original SW Clone Wars in the bracket. I loved that series, General Grievous was a bad-ass! Still mad that it lost in the 1st round to Inspector Gadget, but I got over ruled on that one.
I was never a fan of Ren and Stimpy, except for the episode with “Don’t wizz on the electric fence”. Awesome. And we admitted we never watched Fairly Oddparents, so it got snubbed.
You’re right, we totally forgot Avatar. Captain N was decent.
Next week…videogames.
I sort of tune in and out of the podcast while doing homework so I must have ignored the whole “Kid Show” thing. Still, where is Doug (I dressed as Quailman this year for Halloween and got applause and free drinks wherever I went).
I already posted video game stuff on the facebook page, but yeah, Persona 4 and SotC.
