Square Enix has published its lineup for E3 2012, with Final Fantasy Versus XIII being absent from the list for the sixth time in a row. The game was originally revealed at E3 2006 and has not been presented to the public at a major Western event since. More details are included after the jump.
Square Enix announced last September that the game had gone into full production around that time, but no release window for the game has been announced since. Information regarding the Playstation 3-exclusive action-RPG, which was originally announced alongside Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy Type-0, has been scarce since it was revealed in 2006.
Though Final Fantasy Versus XIII will apparently not be featured at the event, Square Enix will be showing off Tomb Raider, Quantum Conundrum, Sleeping Dogs, Hitman: Absolution, Heroes of Ruin, as well as the Nintendo 3DS-exclusive Final Fantasy: Theatrythm and the Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance.
E3 2012 will be held from June 5th until June 7th.
What do you think, Elder Geeks? After so many years of development, will Fianl Fantasy Versus XIII ever see the light of day?
Hopefully that means it will be at TGS in September. At this point this game better be freaking awesome or the hype will turn me jaded. The same goes with The Last Guardian. Too long in development can harm the product especially when it was first announced.
