People Can Fly, the company behind the Painkiller franchise and Bulletstorm, was bought earlier in the week by Epic Games. Along with this buyout comes the loss of three key developers from the studio, who left as the buyout was completed, according to VG247.
Adrian Chmielarz, once part of the Studio’s executive brass, was part of those who left when the merger took place. He took to Twitter to specify that, “Gears fans, you’re going to love Judgment. It’s in great hands. And don’t worry, you’ll hear about my plans soon enough.” In regards to the merger, Epic’s Mark Rein has stated that, “We doubled down on People Can Fly. It was something we always hoped to do.”
