With the Tokyo Game Show kicking off in just two days, rumors suggesting that Sony is about to reveal a new Playstation 3 model are mounting. A Polish website has published a notice that was printed in the internal newsletter of a retailer that a new model will be launching later this month in the East European country.
It is not the first time rumors regarding a new hardware model have surfaced, with IGN reporting that Sony filed the necessary paperwork (that have since leaked) with the Brazilian government to have new hardware certified earlier this year. The model, which would make for the second major overhaul in the design of the console in the six years it has been on the market, would supposedly be smaller and will be be available in three versions, featuring hard drives of 16gb, 250gb, or 500gb.
If the new Playstation 3 model is indeed scheduled for launch later this month, a reveal at the Sony TGS press conference that is scheduled for later today seems likely.
