The No Doubt v. Activision suit has finally reached a settlement in regards to the pop group’s appearance in 2009′s Band Hero. The exact terms of the settlement – including any financial payouts – have not yet been disclosed.
No Doubt sued Activision over the “virtual karaoke circus act” of Band Hero, allegeding the illegal use of band look-alikes performing songs from other artists during the game. The superior court judge agreed to this lawsuit, and a trial was to be held at the end of this month. Activision filed a written statement against the claim by claiming written rights to No Doubt (among other’s) likenesses, before issuing a counter-suit to recoup losses in legal fees.
