Engadget reports that a 12GB PlayStation 3 could be available in North America on August 18th for $199.99.
A listing was seen for the console on Canadian retailer Future Shop‘s website before being removed. Engadget also received a photo of the system in a Kmart stockroom, with a warning label saying it is not to be sold before August 18th.
Sony introduced the 12GB PS3 at the Tokyo Game Show in 2012. The console contains 12GB of flash memory, as opposed to the hard drive in other PS3 SKUs. Users can however install their own SATA internal hard drive, or buy an official PlayStation internal Hard Drive. It was released exclusively in Europe on October 12th, 2012 for €230/£185.
