A Microsoft representative has told Kotaku that the ability for Xbox One owners to identify themselves by their real name has been postponed.
“While real identities continue to be part of our plans for the experience on Xbox One, at launch, customers will continue to search for friends using their Gamertags,” the rep said. “Our teams are working hard to deliver a quality experience for Xbox One. This means prioritizing some features and sometimes postponing others for a later update.”
Sony has confirmed a similar option for the PlayStation 4, however it is unclear if it will be available at launch.
