Electronic Arts is under investigation by law firm Holzer Holzer and Fistel, LLC over allegedly misleading investors and analysts about the quality of Battlefield 4. The game was released in late October and has been plagued with issues since.
The investigation “focuses on statements [made between July 24 and December 4, 2013] regarding the development and sales of the Company’s Battlefield 4 video game and the game’s impact on EA’s revenue and projects moving forward”, the firm said. Holzer Holzer and Fistel is looking to determine whether or not EA violated federal security laws, by making false statements about the game’s status during that period.
The firm is encouraging those who purchased EA stock between July 24th and December 4th along with anyone who suffered investment losses this year to contact them regarding legal rights in this case.
EA announced last week that all future Battlefield 4 expansions had been put on hold until the game has been fixed, this resulted in the company’s stock dropping 7.3 percent.
