Housemarque, developer of Super Stardust and Resogun, is working with Eugene Jarvis, designer of Defender, Robotron: 2084 and other classic arcade titles, on a new game.
“When I saw Resogun I couldn’t believe how these Housemarque guys took Defender to a new level,” Jarvis said in a statement on Housemarque’s blog, in part. “I wondered… what would happen if we teamed up? Mash up old school arcade with mad voxel tech and crazed nouveau Helsinki gamers… All I know now is that it is going to be explosive.”
Jarvis began his career at Williams, which released Defender in 1980. Jarvis would go on to create other arcade classics such as Robotron: 2084, Smash TV, Narc and Blaster too.
Hosemarque is adding more content to Resogun next week, and released Super Stardust Ultra for the PlayStation 4 this week.
