Last night, Nintendo launched a website for a game Wii-RPG known as The Last Story. The game is being developed by Mistwalker, a studio headed by Final Fantasy-creator Hironobu Sakaguchi, and appears to be Wii-exclusive. Though at this time, little information is available, a date stated on the website leads us to believe that more information regarding the game will be revealed in March 2010.
Sakaguchi recently announced that he is currently involved in two major projects. One being a game for the iPhone, and the other apparently being The Last Story. In May 2009, when speaking about his then-unannounced project, he stated that “I’m putting my heart and soul into this production. I’m taking a full swing and making this the best project.”
A new Hironobu Sakaguchi RPG is a major get for whatever platform it falls on, and its a great addition to the Wii’s hardcore library.
Awesome, More RPGs on any system is great. I just hope there aren’t any unnecessary waggle motions, that hurt a bunch of games.
