While sales for Silent Hill: Shattered Memories were disappointing from the start, Climax Group’s second foray into the popular survival horror Silent Hill franchise (the developer made Origins in 2007,) found a home in generally favorable reviews and fan acclaim. Enough, according to the developer, to merit a sequel.
Speaking to Official Nintendo Magazine, lead designer Sam Barlow spoke on the possibility of Shattered Memories 2, “We’ve always loved working on the series. Since Origins we’ve spent a lot of time with the series. For us we felt we’ve put our stamp on the series with Shattered Memories so we’d love the opportunity to do another one. So everybody go and buy it!”
Mark Simmons, game director for the project, added, “I think this is the first Silent Hill since one or two where people are saying it has its own identity and people are responding to it really well so it would be great to take that further.”
Do Elder-Geeks pass favorable judgment on a Shattered Memories sequel? Or do you think Konami will pull a Capcom/Sega/Ubisoft and yank support for hardcore titles from the platform? Give us your thoughts in the comment section!
I’m gonna buy the first Shattered Memories pretty soon… definitly my type of game.
