Santa Monica, CA – Following rumours that surfaced earlier today, Activision has officially confirmed that 2007’s blockbuster Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare will be ported to the Nintendo Wii by Treyarch Studios. Though it was the California-based studio Infinity Ward that developed Modern Warfare, Treyarch developed both the preceding and following installments in the Call of Duty series. Both of Treyarchs Call of Duty titles were also ported to the Nintendo Wii, with the most recent, World at War, selling in excess of a million copies.
The Wii-installment of Modern Warfare will be released simultaneously with the direct sequel Modern Warfare 2 on November 10th. The seventh installment in the Call of Duty series has been confirmed to be in development at Treyarch studios, though no further details have been revealed with regard to this title.
Wow 2 years late? That’s some major lag.
