Back in February the Big N filed a complaint against the owner of the WiiU.com domain rights with the World Intellectual Property Organization. The decision for the case on the WIPO website now reads “Complaint denied”, meaning the rights will stay with the company in Burlington, Massachusetts who registered the domain in 2004.
According to Fusible, just days before Nintendo filed its complaint, WiiU.com was set for auction on SnapNames. Once Nintendo filed their case with WIPO, the listing was removed. To get the domain now, Nintendo will have to buy it from the current owners, negotiations of which have yet to be confirmed by either party.
