Following fan backlash regarding the new look of Cole MacGrath, the protagonist of the first inFAMOUS who is set to reprise his role in the upcoming sequel, developer Sucker Punch Productions has stated that the look of the character as it will be present in the release-version of the game will be more akin to the original look of MacGrath. After the game was revealed in the April 2010 issue of GameInformer, criticism was raised regarding the dramatically altered look of MacGrath. Where the original character design featured a bright, yellow jacket and a clean shaved scalp, the new design featured a somewhat more bulky MacGrath with more hair and without a jacket.

At the recent E3, game designer Nate Fox already indicated that Sucker Punch would listen closely to community feedback regarding the new look of the inFAMOUS 2 protagonist, and adapt this look if deemed necessary. At that time, Fox himself even seemed to harbor mixed feelings concerning the redesign of the lead character.

At this time, no images of the updated look are available. inFAMOUS 2 is scheduled for a release on the Playstation 3 at some point in 2011.

  1. Awesome, cause I was really concerned there. You just can’t make Cole feel too weak with all the crap he went through. It is good to know that the voice actor is returning, as he really made Cole feel right.

    1. where did they say the VA would be returning?

Definitely agree though that the image has to be more like what it was. It just felt weird.
