Often considered the red-headed stepchild of the Bioware library, the action RPG Jade Empire is one of the few games made by the studio to not see some form of expansion. Published on the original Xbox back in 2005, the game is still on the minds of company founders Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk.

During a speech at this year’s Eurogamer Expo in London, Muzyka referenced Empire – set against a stylized backdrop of ancient Chinese mythology – as coming from “a setting that we were really passionate about, and we still are. Both Greg and I were big believers in the IP. We’re just looking for the right way to deploy it.”

“We have a lot of different projects now on a lot of different platforms, and you might see some of that [Jade Empire] in the future. You never know.” Muzyka added,  We don’t have anything to announce on it right now, but it is a franchise that’s near and dear to us.”
