Electronic Arts has confirmed in a statement issued to Polygon that its Salt Lake City-based studio is being hit by a round of layoffs as it shifts its focus to mobile platforms.

“EA Salt Lake is becoming largely focused on mobile development, including The Sims and other projects,” an EA spokesperson said in the statement. “Recent shifts unfortunately resulted in the reduction of a few teams. As we look to match skills with opportunities, some staff will be offered other positions at EA, while others will leave the company.”

The studio had over 100 employees, but EA has not specified how much will be affected by the job cuts. EA Salt Lake primarily worked on The Sims franchise, Hasbro brand games and Facebook games.
