Two of the game’s lead programmers stepped onto the stage of the Shrine Auditorium to round out Sony’s E3 press conference with a live demo of Sony’s massively anticipated action title, God of War III. The demo took Kratos across a mountain top temple battling harpies and using them as means of travel by repeatedly stabbing them for lift. More of the game’s patented “zipper-tech” mechanics were shown when Kratos ripped the entrails out of a centaur stupid enough to cross him. The demo climaxed with a multi-faceted battle against a chimera, with the sun-god Helios battling a gigantic fire titan in the background.

The demo ended with a tentative release date of March, 2010 for the title, along with tumultuous applause.
