Redwood City, CA – Electronic Arts announced today that come November 16, the Sims series will be once again expanding with what is to become the sixteenth official expansion pack for the PC-based games, and the first expansion to the recently released The Sims 3. The new expansion pack will be named The Sims 3: World Adventures and send the Sims to several fictional locations in France, China and Egypt. The expansion will also include new skills for Sims to learn and new ways to customize their lives.
In addition, players who activate World Adventures will receive 1000 SimPoints that can be used in the official online Sim Store and which can be used to purchase new items to be used ingame. The Sims 3 was released early June for the PC and Mac, and has become the fastest selling PC title ever for publisher EA. Still, the game also broke records in terms of piracy, after the game was leaked online and was downloaded more than a million times before the game was available at retailers.
The Sims Series officially became the best selling PC-series of all time in April of 2008.
