San Diego, CA – At the annual ‘Pokémon World Championship’, which was held last weekend, Nintendo of America and the Pokémon Company announced that remakes of the 2000 Gameboy Color classics Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Silver would soon be making their way to the Nintendo DS. These remakes will be released on September 12th 2009 in Japan and at an unspecified date during the second quarter of 2010 in the United States and Europe.
As with all previous Pokémon games, the game will be developed by Nintendo’s own Game Freak Studio. Besides having updated visuals, several mechanics from the originals will be expanded and a touch-screen functionality will be added. Further details regarding changes made to the originals are not specified.
Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Silver were the first Pokémon games to incorporate a day / night cycle, Pokémon breeding and were the first games to be set in the Johto region.
I would buy this game……if I hadn’t played it half a dozen times already.
My only problem with it is that you walk SO DAMN SLOWLY. What is accomplished by having you move at a snail’s pace?
Silver was always my favorite Pokemon game, so I’ll be picking this up fo sho’
