Cologne, Germany – Sega announced the next title in the Total War series, Napoleon: Total War, slighted to be released in February 2010. It is a stand-alone title and picks up where Empire: Total War leaves off with the beginning of the Napoleonic Wars. It encompasses over twenty years of campaigning from Napoleon’s early Italian campaign to the final showdown at Waterloo in 1815.
Gamers can choose to play as Napoleon or the other belligerent powers. The outcome of the campaign hinges on one’s ability to lead his armies in battle.
There are three new episodic campaigns: Italy, Egypt, and Mastery of Europe. Gamers can take command of units on land and sea. There are also Steam achievements, a uniform editor, gameplay bonuses, and voice communications. New advanced weaponry allows for new tactical options and combat on an epic scale. The environments are highly detailed and the improved battlefield buildings guarantee a realistic recreation of famous historical battles of the Napoleonic era.
