In what seems to be just an odd choice, Microsoft has chosen a very familiar song to be in their new “Get Connected” advertisement. The song is Get It Together by The Go! Team, which some of you may remember being the signature track for Media Molecule’s PlayStation Exclusive released in November last year.

Ok, that’s just creepy.
I find it to be a strange move to use this music. I mean, let’s face it–everyone is thinking ‘PS3 Exclusive LittleBigPlanet’ while watching an ad for the Xbox 360.
It’s a 10 year old song from what I’ve heard and Media Molecule/Sony do not own it in anyway. It does seem odd that they would use it so soon after LBP’s release, but if they’re allowed to, I don’t see the problem. It’s not really “stealing”.
Also am I the only one that finds all this PS3 fanboy outrage ridiculous? I mean the video has 2 stars, it’s like they band together to give everything related to Microsoft a bad score, whether it be Youtube, Gametrailers or Metacritic. I just find it so insane sometimes.
^Ray, that goes for MS fanboys against the PS3, and also Sony and MS fanboys agaoinst Nintendo.
It’s not the same. The video of Sony using the Zelda theme which is actually owned by Nintendo has 4.5/5 stars. Also go to any big name 360 exclusive on metacritic and compare the user score to any big name PS3 score. The worst I have seen the 360 fanboys do is a 7/10 for Killzone 2 on metacritic, compared to the 2.5/10 for Gears of War 2 around the same time.
I hate all fanboys, but the PS3 fanboys really take the whole “console war” deal a bit too far.
Ray is right. The song is not actually ‘stolen.’ However, this song is now inexorably linked to LittleBigPlanet. I’m not mad and I wouldn’t say that they ‘stole’ it because the song is a lot older than LBP.
Let’s just call it a bad choice of music to be played. The entire time I was watching that, I was thinking about sackboys.
People are just envious of whatever is popular…
Anyway, the song thing really isn’t a big deal.
