SEGA’s FTP internal documents enclosing a meeting with SCEA reveals Sony’s upcoming plans for an “PS2 emulator on PS3” suggesting “SCEA wants to sell all PS2 titles on PSN” and Sony considering, “a special Japanese Import section (pricing $9.99 to $39.99 for full game)” for PSN. To further sweeten the deal SEGA intends to sell classic Dreamcast games as downloadable content across multi-platforms with some exclusive titles for PS3.
I suspected as much when the ESRB re-rated the PS2 Rayman game. But I won’t be happy unless they let me use my PS2 discs. I mean I have close to 150 PS2 titles–I don’t want to have to download them and pay to play them.
Smart move, I’m pretty sur i’d done the same thing had it been my company.
