Microsoft released a statement at the Tokyo Game Show earlier today, saying that most of the major publishers in the industry are actively working with their motion-controlled input-system Project Natal. According to Microsoft, these publishers together account for more than 70% of all third-party software sales this generation. Details on which specific publishers are involved can be found after the break.
Amongst the publishers that are working with Project Natal are:
- Activision Blizzard
- Bethesda Softworks
- Capcom
- Disney Interactive
- EA
- Konami
- MTV Games
- Namco Bandai
- Sega
- Square Enix
- THQ
- Ubisoft
None of these publishers have revealed any information regarding their Project Natal-related projects. However, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemont hinted that his organization sees Project Natal as a new way of attracting more people to gaming, as he stated that “Ubisoft is already taking advantage of this major evolution to design new types of gaming experiences and attract more people to play video games”. Prominent publishers that remain surprisingly absent from the above list include Atari and Take Two.
