South-Korean MMO publisher / developer NCSoft has announced that yearly profits increased with over 836% to roughly $41 million. The massive increase in profits is largely due to the popularity of their recently released MMORPG Aion, that moved slightly less than a million copies in the United States and Europe, but is incredibly popular in Asian markets. Other significant sources of income were the MMOs Guild Wars and Lineage II, which was originally released in 2003. Almost half of the company’s sales can be attributed directly to NCSoft’s home market, Korea, with only one fourth of the total sales originating in Western countries.
